It was supposed to be my turn this week but by Thursday I hadn't thought of anything, so I let Stephen choose for me. He choose the restaurant Rain in Norwood. An Asian Fusion cafe with thai, chinese and other asian dishes.
We met at the Bath hotel because we couldn't book a table at the Norwood hotel. The Bath Hotel was nice enough. We had a large round table near the entrance and also more importantly near the bar. The Furphy prices were great too - $7.50 for an imperial pint.
Con, Chad and Albert rocked up and Albert bought a bowl of wedges. Far too much food just before going to eat. No wonder I don't eat all my main meal.
I have to give a call out to the toilets in the Bath Hotel. There is literally no sink, just a surface. The tap splashes everywhere then the water runs backwards towards a narrow slit in the back. Very messy and not very functional at all.
We went to Rain and sat near the entrance. The only problem with it is that it was drafty every time the door opened because it wouldn't close properly.
Con - Combo Laksa with Hokkein noodles (cascade beer)- 5
Albert - Combo Laksa with Rice noodles (pineapple juice)- 7
Elizabeth - Snapper yellow thai curry and rice (lemon lime and bitters) - 5
Stephen - Seschuan chicken and rice (glass of shiraz) - 7
Chad - Kangaroo curry and rice - 8
We went to Buongiorno after for coffee and dessert. Chad had the Italian hot chocolate - and proof that he ate it all. Stephen had an apple crumble cheesecake and Albert had banana cake. I couldn't eat any more after the meal (which I left half of). The potatoes were barely cooked in my curry and the taste was a bit too overwhelming.
