We met at the iconic Elephant only 7 months after COVID 19 shutdown. It had supposedly been renovated but I couldn't tell what exactly had been done to the place. Stephen and I scored a table by the front door and not long afterwards Albert rocked up followed by Con then Richard. Chad was last to join us. Albert had bought a bowl of chips with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce.
Whew!! Back to the Young Henry's jugs! Yeay! Now $15 per jug they're slowly getting more pricey but still cheaper than buying 2 separate imperial pints.
Richard had booked for 7pm at Cafe Michael. He went down early whist Con was finishing his beer. We arrived there to the familiar Harris Scarf plates on the table and large plastic Coca Cola bottle filled with water.
The menus were new in that they were hooked at the top corner of the page with Banquets on the first page. This attracted Stephen and Albert's attention.
The Banquet consisted of the following: Vegetarian spring rolls, chicken wings, Tum Yum Prawns soup, green chicken curry, phad Thai, jasmine rice.
Stephen, Albert and Con all shared a bottle of wine - $30 so $10 each.
- Stephen - Banquet 1 - 8
- Albert Banquet 1 - 8
- Con - Beef green curry and rice - 7
- Richard, Tom Kha Gai chicken, jasmine rice and chilli chicken - 7
- Chad - Egg hokkein noodles with chicken, cheesecake spring rolls with icecream - 8
- Elizabeth - Prawn laksa - half spring roll from Stephen - 4 gluggy (I only ate prawns and left soup)
Albert took a doggy bag home with him. Stephen had ate too much and was bursting and couldn't eat the rest of his meal.
I paid $67 and Chad paid his share and Con gave $32 to Albert in cash. Richard had a meal owed to him by Albert and had a $33.60 meal. That left Albert to pay the balance of $111. Albert questioned the amount and felt he was overcharged.
We went to Brunelli for coffees where Richard paid for all of us for a coffee. Thank you Richard. He looked over the bill and realised that Con underpaid by $4 but other than that the bill was right.
We talked about general stuff before heading home. We gave Con a lift to Buorngiorno.
