It was only four of us tonight. Con, Chad, myself and Stephen. Chad's turn to choose and he was thinking outside of the box. We'd never been to the Feather's Hotel before for a Friday night and it was a great choice. The weather was perfect so it was lovely to sit outside in the beer garden which wasn't quite a garden (with bushes and shrubs) rather a pavillion but it was very pleasant. We sat on the table in the middle and I had to ask Chad to move because of the glare of the sunlight setting to the west. Stephen lamented that there were no happy hour prices. Chad made a comment about the clientelle and how we were mixing it with the conservative voters. Plenty of craft beers to keep Chad happy.
Stephen and I had parked close to the Cascada cafe and walked up to the hotel. So we all walked down to the cafe which was less than 250 metres away. We sat inside. It was a small cafe - nothing fancy.
Chad, Stephen and Con all had pizza. Stephen ordered a vegetarian pizza with extra prosciutto and choritzo sausage. He gave his pizza an 8. Chad ordered the 12" size and also give it an 8. Con, as usual, scored slightly lower at 6 but was reasonably happy with his 9" pizza.
I should have ordered pizza as well but instead ordered the veggie burger and chips. The chips were sweet potato fried - the whole thing didn't taste very nice - it was smeared in sweet chilli sauce with no dressing on the salad component. I gave mine a 5.
We had a bottle of water but to both Stephen and I it tasted a bit funny. I saw how they re-filled the water bottles with the fountain near the table. It was a very slow trickle
Stephen ordered a glass of wine and had a taste of about 4 different wines before choosing. He eventually choose 'Down the Rabbit Hole' wine which he said was nice. Chad and Con had beers.
We stayed for coffee whilst we caught a glimpse of 'Coming to America' on the television above the front door. Gee it looks dated now.
We had a discussion about changing the team's name to something more contemporary. Team of Thrones is now old hat. We had a brainstorming session and came up with 'Italian Hot Chocolate' in honour of Albert. Chad said he would change the name on facebook. We never Richard wouldn't be happy initially about it. :-)
